ABOUT MCN
Fingerprinting isn’t available to creators on individual level and DRM is the largest South Asian network in the world. If you’re elegible to work with us, your exposure will be to over 500M people globally.
BASICS
If the channel is not monetized yet, your channel does not fall under the eligibility criteria of the MCN. We will recommend you continue creating content consistently in order to be noticed!
If the channel is tied into a multi-channel network, you can view the connection on the channel dashboard. However, if you do not have access to the channel you cannot identify channels part of a MCN, unless it is explicitly mentioned in the channel ‘About’ section or on other platforms related to the channel.
If you want to join the network, you have to wait for us to find your channel or you reach out to us through our contact details on the website. A relevant channel manager will get in touch with you. The contract is usually for 36 months. If you want to cancel the agreement, you can discuss it with your channel manager to proceed with termination.
Top Creators create content which is current. Whether it’s celebrity talk, big events, or political news, touching on trends is a sure way to grow your channel. The best place to find out what people are searching for is Google Trends! It highlights what’s trending now and what was trending in the past.
DRM works with video platforms to offer assistance to a channel owner in areas such as content management, cross-promotion, partner management, copyrights management, monetization, audience growth in exchange for a percentage of the revenue earned through sales.
DRM makes money by taking a cut of the advertorial income of the signed broadcasters, publishers and creators.
When considering whether to join an MCN, you need to consider what value can the network provide you. DRM offers support and opportunities including channel optimization, cross promotion, immediate access to your target audience, copyrights management, collaborations, and brand deals.
DRM owns two Content Owners – Dot Republic Media and Walnut Media which use YouTube’s Content Management System (CMS) to manage metadata of different content types along with automated copyrights management.
An MCN can help assist you with optimizing monetisation, digital rights management, improving reach, cross-promoting, product development, getting sponsorships, and exploring collaboration possibilities.
LEGAL AND COPYRIGHTS
No! YouTube has very strict guidelines about purchasing views, likes, and subscribers. If YouTube detects any of this activity, they can and will shut down your account permanently. Plus, purchasing views, likes, and subscribers adds no benefit to your videos or account anyway.
Absolutely nothing. Actually you’d be making revenue every month and we’ll take a percentage of that depending on which Creator model you choose.
YouTube content ID creates a fingerprint of your content. The Network automatically matches content across the globe enabling creators to track/claim/take down in a scalable and automated manner.
Copyright strikes can arise for several reasons. If you uploaded content that another publisher owns (such as a video clip or a song clip) without the publisher’s permission, they have the right to request that YouTube remove it.
Any video that contains copyrighted material can be claimed or removed by the copyright owner. If your videos contain content that isn’t yours, it’s best if you remove it before action is taken against it. If a video has already received a copyright strike, removing the video will not remove the strike.
If you find that someone else has stolen one of your videos and uploaded it to YouTube, you can now submit a claim to DRM. We’ll deal with it directly and win you the stolen revenue you deserve. Just provide us the following information via [email protected]
- Link to your original video: What’s the URL for your 100% original video?
- Link to the stolen copy: What’s the URL of the stolen copy of your content?
- Timecode: When (in terms of hours:minutes:seconds) does your content appear in the stolen video? (If it’s the entire video, enter 00:00:00.)
- Policy: What action do you want DRM to take on the stolen content? (In most cases, you’ll want to monetize so you can grow your earnings.)
- Monetize: Earn money from any views the stolen video gets.
- Track: Keep track of all views of the stolen video within your YouTube analytics.
- Block: Keep the stolen video from being viewable on YouTube.
- Strike: Report the stolen video (and the uploader) to YouTube.
Creator owns the content while DRM retains the exclusive right to distribute the content across all digital platforms.
MONETIZATION
Multi format content creation is the future. And here is how YouTube is now assisting creators to monetize the new and happening format – YouTube Shorts:
- Beginning in early 2023, current and future YPP creators will be eligible for revenue sharing on Shorts.
- In Shorts, ads run between videos in the Shorts Feed. So, every month, revenue from these ads will be added together and used to reward Shorts creators and help cover costs of music licensing.
- From the overall amount allocated to creators, they will keep 45% of the revenue, distributed based on their share of total Shorts views. The revenue share remains the same, no matter if they use music or not.
No. An AdSense account is not required as part of your DRM partnership.
According to the YouTube Partner Program requirements, your channel needs at least 1,000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time to be eligible to monetize your account. However, in case your videos are claimed revenue can be earned on the views, we do this for creators so that they can monetize from DAY 1.
Each time a viewer watches an advertisement on your video, you get paid. How much revenue you earn depends on the watch time and countries of your viewers.
Your earnings will be paid out directly from into your PayPal account or Local Bank Account, depending upon the payment model you choose.
Every video that is 100 percent yours can be monetized.
On our network you start making money right away. An individual channel is eligible for monetization once it reaches 4000 hours of watch time, with minimum of 1,000 subscribers and 1 month of formation.
MUSIC DISTRIBUTION
- Get your kit ready to promote the song across platforms
- Get creative with how to use the lyrics
- Use smartlinks (let the audience pick which DSP they want to play the song on)
- Use animated covers to stand out of the crowd
- Cross promote song link on social media platforms and network channels
- Listener campaigns to reward the loyal fans and encourage listening
- Get shout outs for your song
- Work with marketing teams at the DSPs to get better placement of your song on the playlists
- Song copyrights protection
- Analyse data to get to know your audience better and guide you on your content strategy
While distributing your song directly, there is a flat fees for 1-2 tracks which is around $10, for an EP is is around $20 and for an album it will be around $40 (which means at least 6 to 7 songs). Some distributors work on a revenue model with around 15 – 30% revenue share and they are recommended for aggregators or labels due to the size of the catalogue.
The revenue of streams now depends on freemium + premium model, the location of the audience and so on so the range can really vary from $500 – $8,000. Your past release data is your best guess for how much you will be able to earn from your new release.

As the financial payout models are evolving, this area is also likely to be more flexible, some distributors pay quarterly, while some can pay earlier and some claim to pay weekly as well. DRM has a monthly payout cycle.
When selecting a distribution company, you can either go directly or via an aggregator. Distrokid for creators and Orchard for aggregators are considered a relatively large size in this region. DRM distributes via Orchard, Believe and SoundOn.
